Register descriptions

UxBR1 / UxBR0

Baud rate selector register, used to set the UART baud rate. UxBR1 is the high word (MSW) and UxBR0 is the low word (LSW).

UxMCTL

Modulation control register, used to fine-tune the baud rate and reduce communication errors. Each bit corresponds to a modulation factor.

Formula

N = floor(F / Baud)

UxBR = N (16-bit)

UxBR1 = N >> 8

UxBR0 = N & 0xFF

Error percentage

The percentage of bit-time timing error; smaller is more accurate. TX is the transmit-side error, RX the receive-side error.
